The first hike was scheduled for today. The group headed for McDowell Sonoran Preserve to hike the Granite Mountain Trailhead. Joyce started them out on an easy trail which provided a scenic overlook. Along the trail, the group ran into the Hard Hitting Reporter (HHR).
HHR: What are you four doing on this trail?
Debbie: What are you doing here? I thought that we left you in Europe.
Larry: What she meant to say was that we are happy to see you.
Joyce: We are hiking on a trail with lots of saguaro cactus.
HHR: What is a saguaro cactus?
Jerry: I can handle this one. The saguaro is a cactus species that can grow to be over 40 feet tall. It can live to be over 150 years old and grows in Arizona / Mexico.
HHR: Did you take any pictures?
Larry: Why yes but only about 100 or so.
HHR: Debbie, you seem to have an interesting outfit on.
Debbie: Look, I was cold and I burn easily. Why are you here, again? I really, really would like for you to go back to Europe. You should try to get a job in Scotland again.
