Today Charlie made his first daylight appearance. Luckily, Dan was able to remember where they left Charlie the night before to retrieve him looking refreshed and ready to go. Trust is being dropped off in a country where you don’t speak the language and know where exactly you are at midnight.
Cultural moment: Plitvice lakes is a National Park of Croatia. It has 16 Lakes and 90 waterfalls. Most of all it has bus loads of tourists with cameras and selfie sticks.
Debbie had bought tickets online and was determined that everyone would use them no matter what. If it had been crowded, they would have saved lots of time. Dan said that he waited 45 minutes the week before to get into the park. This week there was no line but if there had been then they would have been prepared. Debbie just needs to let it go.
Charlie saw the first two or three waterfalls. He then decided to turn around and go back to the top to wait because he had after all, been on the road for 30 hours the days before. He left the remaining 87 waterfalls for the other three hikers to find.
Charlie returned to the top and became an immediate tourist attraction. He was dressed like a tourist’s perception of the Croatian man. He had the hat, pants, suspenders and everything. Charlie was waiting on a bench when a lady had her husband take her picture with Charlie. (Debbie wants to give him a Croatian name. Ivan is the most popular male Croatian name).
Debbie then introduced Dan to hotdogs across Europe. Just saying pictures don’t lie on who is a charter member of hots dogs across Europe.
Next off to Split, Croatia and the first cemetery hunt. It is a little bit like Amazing Race . It involved driving down narrow streets, running back and forth and asking questions.
That’s nice of dan to share in the hotdogs across Europe experience. It sounds awful but I’m glad you’re doing it
We think Dan was trying to be a good host but it is hard to keep up with Hot dogs across Europe.
