We’re Here!

We arrived in Paris early this morning with very little sleep the night before.  Excitement was high as they took an unintentional 1.5 hour tour of Charles De Gaulle airport.  We circled through most terminals trying to buy museum passes .  Debbie has not had her A game on today (lack of sleep?) .    Indecision was somewhat rampant as the group kept getting in and out of lines.

Did I mention that it is raining?  Did I mention that the taxi driver dropped us off, pointed the group down the street mumbling “café” and jumped in the taxi with his generous tip leaving us on the sidewalk?.  The group wondered down the street in the rain and stopped under cover to figure out where we were.  Lisa did an excellent job unbeknownst to herself of getting us stop at the correct address.  While we were standing there, the owner found us .   He was extremely helpful getting us in the building and sending us up the elevator one at a time.  The elevator can hold 1 person and 1 suitcase or 3 people (we are iffy about the weight of those 3 people).  There was also a moment of panic when Debbie couldn’t figure out how to get out of the elevator and didn’t want to stand there yelling “Get me out”.  The other option is to go up 4 flights of a winding circular staircase.  We then went into intensive training on the door locks with Elise being designated the security officer. It is the best lock that we have ever in our life with four bolts and an additional dead bolt.  We also have two locks to get into the compound.  The group worries that they may spend the trip inside the compound as they cannot get out.  There had been some issues with standing outside the door for about 10 minutes trying to get in with the keys passed off between the security officer and other people.
