Holiday Farm Fire Update for September 13
The wild fire and structural firefighters on the Holiday Farm Fire east of Springfield have made progress. After being at zero containment, they now estimate 5% containment. If an area is contained, it means they can prevent additional fire spread. Not all sides are contained yet.
Additional firefighters have been brought into help. With more resources, the crews have been able to do burnout operations to control the fire in the southwestern side.
Lindsey and Aaron report that they are still at home but have their go bags ready. The air is very smoky and they are staying inside as much as possible. Luckily, everyone already has masks. (Finally one positive for Covid-19).
On a side note, I just want you all to know that the editor used to write the blog says that my titles are too boring and gets a 31 points out of 100. My competitive spirit makes me want to shoot for 100 but feel that this might shock the readers. Below are some tried and their scores. I thought for sure that the last one would be a winner.
- Wildfire Sunday Update 31/100
- Wildfire – Go As Fast As You Can 48/100
- A Holiday That Can Burn You Up 51/100
- Danger Will Robinson Danger – 45/100
- Ranger holds off Game of Throne Fiery DRAGONS with water shots and assists Bear with birth of twins while fire rages overhead 31/100
My personal favorite sample title was “Danger Will Robinson Danger”. Have you seen the Lost in Space reboot on Netflix?
How about: Staying Put in Face of Fiery Inferno
I will let you know your score tomorrow. Of course, I have seen the Space Reboot. I am certain that I heard “Danger Will Robinson Danger” in some of the work meetings that we attended.
Staying Put in Face of Fiery Inferno scores 51 out of 100 – tying the highest that I have gotten.
Glad that Lindsey and Aaron are safe for now, but ready to go immediately if needed. Yikes, really scary situation and hope the fire will be contained soon.
Love the update. Hope for a good outcome for Lindsey and Aaron. Miss you guys!
